Today we release the designs from Wool Book One as individual patterns.

So if you’ve been waiting to order a single pattern instead of the entire book–now you can!

We photographed Wool One in a vacant store front. We love the light in this space. Pretty and soft all day long.

Melissa adjusts Avery (her cowl) on model Manaan. Try it this way, try it that.

And a little lipstick never hurts.

And then, in the winter issue of Knitty (#34),  there’s Jacqueline‘s BIG collar sweater in Puffin in rich, rich, rich Frank’s Plum. If anyone ever said you can’t do details or a fitted sweater in a chunky yarn in a chunky stitch, he/she is wrong. Show them Jacqueline.

AND (truly sorry) I missed the opportunity to alert you to a Quince and Co giveaway hosted by Knitty’s blog. That said, if you visit the blog soon, you’ll see something else there that might interest you…

A little behind the curve on this announcement, but better late, etc.

We have a sweater in the current issue (#36) of Knitty–very exciting. It’s the first fall issue, and in keeping with the season, Cecily G. MacDonald designed a brief little sweater, Leaflet, worked in Osprey. What is it that I love about something interesting on the BACK of a sweater (above)? It’s not too late to knit it on size 10 needles.

And from the front…

If you’re wondering, the sunny color is Apricot.

I don’t know about you, but these days I like my banks small enough to fail. And how not to love a bank that a) makes a logo from a bird’s eye view of a lighthouse and b) takes yarn as seriously as we do.

We are pleased that Gorham Savings Bank has taken note of Quince & Co. Yesterday they featured us in their weekly e-letter of juicy news bits on trends in the economy. Maybe you’d like to see the clip?

Okay–showing off a little. But hey! we knitters know how to keep the economy going. Right?

More from Cecily and Melissa! Coming soon–another book (this time in paper), Weekend Hats (Interweave Press, 2011). C&M curated this nifty collection of caps. We especially like Carrie Hoge’s Semolina (above)–in Quince & Co. Lark. See other faves below.

Jared Flood’s Wanderer Cap in his signature yarn, Shelter.

Melissa LaBarre’s Weekend Toque–with its little temple tucks–in Veronik Avery’s Nordique yarn.

Not quite sure how Cecily and Melissa manage to be such prolific designers, but I’m awfully glad they do.
