It’s here! Wool is done! Spent all day yesterday proofing. First this version of the book, then that one, flying through cyberspace. Then one more try, then ONE more, really–and then the final–final, final, FINAL–edit for a look-see. Did you hear the swish, swish of e-mail traffic?
And all so worth it–for now, today, we publish Wool, our first joint venture with designers Cecily MacDonald and Melissa LaBarre. Wool is an e-book that contains five patterns: A cowl, a beret, a wooly cardi, a lace cardi, and a live-in-it pullover, all worked in Quince and Co. yarns. We love all the projects and couldn’t be more pleased with the book.
We’ve posted the book in our ‘more’ category, but you can also find it, and more pics, under ‘patterns.’ And soon it will be on our lookbook page–patterns not included.
The idea began last year-sometime around the new year. A “Hey–you know what might be fun…” moment. Cecily and Melissa brought specific ideas–sketches, colors, etc.– to lunch last March. They knitted–and knitted. And in July, we shot the book in one of our favorite locations, a downtown store front. And here we are, almost September 1, introducing Wool!. What a wonderful way to tuck into winter knitting. We so hope you like it!

If I only had more time to knit all the incredible patterns you release! Another amazing project from Quince & Co.
Very nice!
Humm, Re: Regina, maybe there should be a Quince knitting camp? Gather, knit Quince patterns with Quince yarns. Have the designers there to answer questions, give inspiration, maybe offer workshops on techniques and design. Could be pretty cool. One of many great excuses to spend some time in beautiful Portland.
