crochet week friday: grand isle
Happy Friday! Crochet Week wraps up today with our final reveal: Grand Isle, a lovely new cowl designed by Ashlyn Holmes, who drew inspiration for this piece from vintage crochet afghans which call to mind her southern roots.
This pretty loop is worked in wool/silk Tern and makes excellent use of double crochet and puff stitches to create a squishy, soft neck accessory that's lightweight enough for multiple seasons. Grand Isle is written for a versatile length that can be worn as a single loop or doubled up.
And that's a wrap for Crochet Week! As you know, this was a slight departure for us. At the outset we wondered if there is, in fact, a desire to see more crochet designs out there in the modern fiber arts world, and so decided to try it and see. We hope you've enjoyed our crochet-exclusive collection, and we would really love to hear what you think of them.
Would you like to see more crochet designs from Quince in addition to knitting? Is there a demand for crocheted garments? Are you a knitter who occasionally crochets? Or are you tempted to, now that you've seen what beautiful crocheted pieces can be made in Quince yarns? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
