Scarves, etc 4 KAL

The Home Collection knit along has just finished, and you may be wondering what to knit next... Here at Quince, that means scarf season!

With the release of our fourth annual scarf collection, comes a new KAL, and 13 new patterns to choose from. Beginning Monday, March 9, 2015, you’ll find a forum thread in our Ravelry group page for posting your finished pieces (and one for general chit chat). At the beginning of April, three $50 gift certificates will be awarded to randomly selected posters to the finished object thread.

Here in Maine, we’re still in the heart of winter, but with a desperate eye to spring. Playing with color in a shawl or cowl is the perfect way to blast the winter blues.

Aviary uses Tern in two colors, an open mesh top fabric gives a peek to the color beneath. Bright and bold contrast surely makes a statement, but so can a subtle and gentle color shift, as here in Dusk and Driftwood.

Pomaika`i uses color in a different way: sharp lines and a deep, balancing border. We love this piece with deep lines of dark red and muted green, but the designer took it to a different place beautifully with natural white and grey heather.

Strix Varia uses our alpaca blend, Owl, and a simple slip stitch pattern to take stripes to a new level. The palette, with natural light brown flowing into cheerful shades of blue and yellow evoke a feeling of calm. The shawl would lend itself equally well to a study in neutrals.

Use the "Compare Colors" tool on any of our yarn pages to find your own perfect color pairing.

As the knit along progresses, we’ll be calling attention to some of the fun details and interesting techniques you’ll find in the patterns of Scarves, etc 4.

Stay tuned!
