flock together: part two

Two short days until our next collection is here! Above, a little swatching that happened in anticipation of later this week (once I finally narrowed down which color to play with).

Our final designer reveal today is a familiar face again to Quince fans: Welcome Melissa LaBarre to the 2016 Quince design team!

designed by Melissa, clockwise from top left: Wool Baby, Lena hat in Tern, Agnes sweater in Puffin, Avery cowl in Osprey

Where to even begin with Melissa's previous Quince collabs? Most recently the ever-busy mom of two created the Wool Baby collection of children's patterns in 2015, which featured the popular Aziza bonnet and Mae cardigan (and two other sweet little designs—the Arlo cardigan and Elmer blanket). Melissa teamed up with fellow designer Cecily Glowik MacDonald for our Wool collections: 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Her Agnes sweater in Puffin also saw quite a bit of love last month, during Marlee's #havecompanykal February knitalong on Instagram.

It's clear that Melissa and Quince have been a match made in wooly heaven for a while now, and we're pleased as punch to have her on board for the 2016 design team. We've long been a fan of her approach to simple garment style, her textural cowls and hats (I can't get enough of those!), and her expertise in creating the most adorable knitwear for kids. Melissa's versatility is one of the many things we love about her work, and we can't wait to show you what she's come up with for our design team collections.

And this concludes our 2016 team introductions. Just what have the designers been up to? Keep an eye on Thursday...
