Who: 
Detailed oriented and proficient in knitting

Collaborative and friendly
A US resident (you do not have to live in the US but it is easier to ship yarn and samples within in the US)
 
What is sample knitting:
Sample knitting is providing a finished garment, sample, for us to use to promote our yarns and patterns across multiple platforms
You will be sample knitting a pre-existing pattern from the Quince and Co pattern vault. Size of the garment will be determined at the start of the project. Any notions will also be provided (e.g. buttons, closures, etc.)
 
Yarn:
All yarn will be provided to make the sample and will be shipped to your residence
Sample knitters should keep all yarn tags
Any leftover yarn from the project can be kept by the Knitter
 
Pattern:
A PDF copy of the pattern will be provided
 
Staying in touch:
Communication is key!
Sample Knitters must be comfortable staying in touch via email for any questions or updates
Sample Knitters must agree to keep us updated in the sample knitting process and meet deadlines as they are given
Please let us know if you find any errors in the patterns even though you are not test knitting
 
Photos/social media posting:
The sample knitter is to capture at least two ‘making of’ or progress photos and/or videos to be used on Quince and Co’s social media accounts.

Finishing:
Sample Knitters must return the finished project and any swatches back to us
The Knitter will have to pre-pay for regular, non-rush shipping (USPS Priority Mail or similar with tracking for the sample to be returned. With a copy of the shipping receipt Quince & Co will provide a reimbursement for the shipping cost.
Project must be returned fully seamed (if needed), ends woven in, washed, and blocked
 
Compensation:
Quince and Co agrees to pay the Knitter (USD) per the category the sample falls in. All samples fall into one of three categories. 
Payment Structure per Category:
     Accessory: $100 per completed sample, The Accessory category includes hat, mittens, small home items, scarf, socks, gloves and/or cowls that require straight-forward stitch work. 
     Simple Garment: $200 per completed sample, The Small Garment category includes slight color work,straight-forward stitch work (garter or stockinette) and simple closures such as buttons, snaps or ties. 
     Detailed Garment: $300 per completed sample, The Detailed Garment category includes: Lace work, cables, bobbles, and/or advanced colorwork such as Fair Isle or Intarsia
 
What to expect from us:
We promise to communicate in a timely manner with you about any questions or concerns you may have during the sample knitting process.
We will set clear and upfront expectations about each project - the pattern, size, timeline, yarn, deadline, and mailing instructions - as well as a point person for these questions and communications throughout the project.
