August is almost here, and while we’re looking forward to cozy fall projects, there’s still lots of warm weather to knit through. Luckily, we have a nice selection of patterns designed with our cool, 100% organic cotton yarns Whimbrel and Willet in mind. We’ve curated a few of our favorite patterns from summers past—from light and breezy tees, to summery shawls, to darling knits for the littles in your life—cool cotton designs abound!Light and breezy teesFrom left to right: Atlee by Leah B. Thibault, Darlene by Isabell Kraemer, and Mariana by Elizabeth Smith.

Atlee by Leah B. Thibault

Summer begs for basics, and Atlee delivers. In organic cotton Willet, with an a-line shape, scooped neckline and textural details in the yoke, Leah's tee is a picture-perfect essential for easy days in the sun.

Darlene by Isabell Kraemer

Isabell’s cotton tee is the perfect pick for summer wear. Knitted from the top down, with minimal details and simple shaping, Darlene is sweet, simple and super soft in our sport weight organic cotton, Willet.

Mariana by Elizabeth Smith

This fun tee features an all-over mesh motif, worked from the top down with short row shaping at the neck. We love the cropped, wide body on this piece. Pair it with your favorite colorway of Whimbrel and enjoy the deliciously soft and subtle sheen of organic cotton.Summery shawlsFrom left to right: Chalice by Paulina Popiolek, Lacewing by Josée Paquin, and Soulbound by Melanie Berg.

Chalice by Paulina Popiolek

Paulina builds a simple garter stitch body on this piece, starting at one tip, then transitions into a pretty goblet motif, and ends with a twisted rib. In our soft organic cotton Whimbrel, Chalice provides a nice weight for warm summer nights.

Lacewing by Josée Paquin

A fun, feathery lace panel is worked alongside a classic garter stitch body in this sideways-knitted shawl. Perfect for wearing on a summer night. Knitted up in our organic cotton Whimbrel, Lacewing is simple to work and quickly completed!

Soulbound by Melanie Berg

Melanie created this gorgeous, elongated triangle with our organic cotton Willet, using lacy openwork stitches offset by flowing ridges of garter stitch. Increasing on one side while decreasing away the other makes this one an easy, relaxing knit.Little knitsFrom left to right: Baby Kelpie by Pam Allen, Little Willet by Dawn Catanzaro, and Whitman by Pam Allen.

Baby Kelpie by Pam Allen

Pam’s Baby Kelpie is a fan favorite when it comes to baby knits. Knitted in Willet, this darling piece is worked from the bottom up, beginning flat with a garter stitch trim, and shaped with short rows. Knitters of all skill levels will enjoy how quickly Baby Kelpie knits up—and will be tempted to cast on the adult version for themselves!

Little Willet by Dawn Catanzaro

Here’s another little knit featuring our organic cotton Willet! Sweet and simple in garter stitch and stockinette, this unisex cardigan is just the thing to keep baby cozy. And as Little Willet is sized from newborn to 18 months old, it makes the perfect little gift to knit for a shower or first birthday, or for your own little one.

Whitman by Pam Allen

Big sister to Walden, Whitman is the sweetest of striped garter stitch baby sweaters in our worsted weight Whimbrel. Knitted flat and seamed, with a buttoned shoulder. Machine washable, soft…the perfect thing for wee ones. The worsted weight means it'll whip up ever so quickly.
