Ravelry roundup: Scarves ends and Linen begins!
Well we have just wrapped up (haha) another knit along over in our Ravelry group for the new Scarves, Etc collection. There were some really nice pieces and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves! I didn't finish my Wending after all, but I will, eventually. Go over to our KAL chat thread to congratulate our winners!
Here are just a couple of my favorite pieces:
One of our designers for the Scarves collection, Mel Schoenwether, made a version of her Pomaika`i shawl in Sparrow! She used Nannyberry (MC) and Juniper (CC). |
Here, one of our winners made a gorgeous Aviary cowl in Tern using the colors Beach Glass (lining) and Driftwood (Irish mesh). |
It feels very appropriate to post this today, as we are saying goodbye to the few inches of snow (yes, in April) we woke up to yesterday morning. Thanks to all who participated! It is always fun to see all the photos emerging, of in progress and of finished things.
And now that we, in Maine, are headed for 50s next week, so says the US national weather service, we're itching to get into our summer knitting! On Wednesday we announced our new KAL for spring, it's all about our linen yarns, Kestrel and Sparrow. Knit any of our linen patterns! What's the one you've always wanted to make? Helene? Hamlin Peak? Or maybe one of the patterns from our new spring collections are speaking to you, saying knit me now? (I get that a lot.)
This time we've opened up to allow WIPs (works in progress) as well--so if you have some pretty victim of startitis languishing in your knitting basket, and it happens to be in Sparrow or Kestrel, and a Quince pattern, pick it up! If you finish and post a photo of it by Monday June 8th in our Linen KAL FOs thread, you could win a $50 gift certificate to quinceandco.com. In any case, it's great to have a finished thing just in time for summer to kick in--well...that is if you live in the northern hemisphere...
So, join us! Head over to our Rav group and chime in with your intended project. And don't forget to share your photos on Instagram as well! Tag your projects with #linenkal2015 so we can find them.
