As 2018 comes to a close, we're putting the finishing touches on our first round of Quince Quarterly subscription boxes. In two weeks, they will start making their way into subscribers' hands, and to celebrate, we wanted to delve deeper into why we decided to launch this new offering.
We're counting down the days until Winter Twenty Nineteen boxes land on our subscribers' doorsteps, and we hope you are too! If you didn't manage to snag a box this time, keep an eye out for more news in the coming months. Plus, follow along with #quincequarterly on our social channels for reveals and as our subscribers share their unboxing.
Let's get into a few more details while we wait, shall we?
Quince Quarterly is a subscription for the knitter who loves all things Quince and wants to be surprised with a new project each quarter, or who'd like the opportunity to try a sampling of Quince yarns in a fun way. Quince Quarterly is for the knitter who maybe already has it all—who has more knits than she knows what to do with and all family members are covered. It's also for the busy knitter who is perhaps overwhelmed by the multitude of choice in the world of knitting patterns, and who welcomes the ease of a preselected kit. We've designed Quince Quarterly to be something to look forward to each quarter—a box filled with goodies that inspires newfound joy for the craft.
In developing the upcoming year's Quince Quarterly offerings, we wanted to take a seasonal approach to the offerings, each with colorway options curated by the Quince team. Each quarter includes an exclusive, special-edition printed knitting pattern for Quarterly boxes only, along with the yarn needed to knit the project. In dreaming up what kinds of projects we think would be perfect for a subscription, we decided against featuring sized garments—if you're anything like us, garment preference can be quite particular. Accessories, however, tend to have much more latitude.
Each Quarterly box will feature a new accessory pattern that, we think, subscribers of all tastes will be able to utilize. If you decide the project is not for you, the wonderful thing about accessories is that they always make lovely gift item (whether in finished form or a project yet to be knit).
The knitting patterns included in each Quince Quarterly box will be made available in digital format six months following the launch of the box. The patterns from our inaugural Winter Twenty Nineteen boxes will become available to the general public on our website and Ravelry in July 2019. If you didn't purchase a subscription or single box, you'll be able to purchase the PDF versions of the patterns at that time. Similarly, if you purchased a Level 2 box, you'll be able to purchase Level 1 box's pattern at that time as well.
To kick off Quince Quarterly in a truly celebratory way, we wanted to include something extra special inside Winter Twenty Nineteen's Level 2 boxes: An advance preview of our newest bird, a brand new yarn line launching on January 29th, along with our first knitting pattern written for it. If you have an eye for details, you may have picked out clues in some of the photos in our e-letter and on social media.
Yes! As for the extras: The treats and goods in each box, we hope, will be what makes it extra special. In our Winter Twenty Nineteen boxes, subscribers may find something sweet (and cute!), and something handy, of which no one can have too many. But, shhh... that's all we'll say.
Follow along on Instagram, Facebook, and by joining our mailing list—we'll be sharing more sneak peeks leading up to January, when Quince Quarterly boxes begin shipping to their new homes.
We can hardly contain ourselves about each quarter's new offerings. We hope you find as much joy in imagining the possibilities as we have.
And, if you have a box flying your way in the coming weeks, we hope you love it, and we'd love to hear all about it—please share your projects and unboxing on social media using the hashtag #quincequarterly. We have all sorts of fun things planned! We can't wait to see what you share.
