FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:

9¾ (11¼)" [25 (28.5) cm] cuff circumference, 8½ (9¾)" [21.5 (25) cm] foot circumference / smaller pair shown on women’s size US 8, and larger on men’s size US 9

YARN:

puffin / 2 (3) skeins MC; smaller pair shown in iceland 153 and larger in sabine 150 / 1 skein in CC; smaller pair shown in delft 108 and larger in twig 119 (CC) / Note: Approx 20-25 yds of CC is used for the pair—if you have some Puffin bits in your stash, use them!

NEEDLES:

two 24" circulars in size US 13 [9 mm] / two 24" circulars in size US 15 [10 mm]

GAUGE:

11¼ sts and 15 rnds = 4" [10 cm] in stockinette stitch with larger needles, after blocking

NOTES:

Socks are worked from cuff to toe; the heel is shaped using Japanese short rows. Instructions are for working in the round on two circular needles--suggestions for working on dpns included.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Working in the round, long-tail cast on, stranded colorwork, Japanese short rows, increasing, decreasing.
