Dye -

Cochineal (20g) - red to magenta purple - 5g to dye 1 100g skein
Sappanwood (40g) - bright red - 50g to dye 1 100g skein
Red Sandalwood (40g) - terra cotta to orangey peach - 50g to dye 1 100g skein
Osage (40g) - bright golden yellow - 75g to dye 1 100g skein
Annatto (50g) - yellow to peach - 50g to dye 1 100g skein
Henna (50g) - tan to olive - 75g to dye 1 100g skein
Cutch (20g) - tan to brown - 50g to dye 1 100g skein
Madder (50g) - rusty pink to red - 50g to dye 1 100g skein
Logwood (25g) - purple to black - 50g to dye 1 100g skein

What is a mordant and why do you need it? - Natural dyes will only make a proper bond to mordanted natural fibers. Without a mordant, most natural dyes have nothing to grip onto and will rinse out and fade quickly. After you have scoured your natural fibers and/or fabrics, it’s time to mordant!
