Named after the elusive marsh bird, Sora embodies strength and beauty. Small but mighty, the sora bird flies effortlessly through dense wetlands and migrates thousands of miles each year. A reminder that endurance often comes in unexpected forms. Like its namesake, Sora yarn pairs softness with strength. The warmth of wool is complemented by the resilience of nettle fiber, creating pieces that are lightweight, durable, and full of natural resilience. Softly heathered and lightly luminous, it's a yarn designed to move with you, growing softer with every stitch and every wear.

What is nettle?
Long before cotton became widespread in Europe, stinging nettle was an important textile fiber. Its tall stalks produce strong bast fibers, similar to linen, that have been spun and woven for centuries throughout Northern Europe and Asia.
Once processed, nettle loses its sting entirely, becoming soft yet durable with a subtle sheen that brings dimension to yarn and fabric. Nettle is also considered one of the more environmentally responsible plant fibers available, growing readily in a wide range of climates and often requiring fewer resources than conventional cotton.

Why Wool and Nettle work so well together
Blending nettle with wool creates a yarn where each fiber enhances the other. Wool brings warmth, elasticity, and softness, while nettle contributes strength, breathability, and a subtle luster. Together they produce a fabric that feels balanced and resilient, with a lightly textured surface and a delicate halo that gives the yarn its quiet glow.
