Cardigan is designed to be worn open, with a gap of 3¾ (3¾, 4, 3, 4½) (5¼, 5¼, 6, 6)" [9.5 (9.5, 10, 7.5, 11.5) (13.5, 13.5, 15, 15) cm].

Needles:

Size U.S. 5 [3.75 mm] circular needle 32" [80 cm] long / Set U.S. 5 [3.75 mm] DPNs or long circular needle for magic loop / Additional size U.S. 5 [3.75 mm] circular needle for three-needle bind-off

Gauge:

22 sts x 24 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Wheat Ear Stitch, after blocking

Construction:

Cardigan is worked in one piece from the bottom up to the underarm. The back and fronts are then worked separately and joined at the shoulder with a three-needle bind-off. Stitches are then picked up to work the sleeve trim in the round, and the collar trim back and forth.
