Bright, colorful knits for your needles, these blankets fall right around the 33-34" square mark, perfectly sized for babies.
Izzy and Telly, designed by Dawn Catanzaro, each call for three colors of Willet and are worked in easy and addictive garter stitch:
Izzy (pictured at the beginning of this post) with mitered colorblocking;
Telly (above) utilizing knitting on the bias to overlay diagonal stripes that sail from one color to the other.
Leila Raabe's Sully blanket sticks to a classic approach with four-color stripes and a subtle seed stitch detail, framed by a simple garter stitch border.
All three blankets celebrate bold, cheerful color and are so much fun to whip up!
We can't help but notice how these designs resemble maritime signal flags, and can picture them being used to send up such messages as "I'd like a cookie," "Read me a bedtime story," or "One more hug!" Perfect match, too, for our nautical-themed Willet color names (in this collection: Windlass, Oar, Starboard, Flare, and Dinghy).
