ravelry and instagram roundup
Today, as I look out from our office window, I see that the azaleas lining Congress Square Park are just beginning to bloom. We are supposed to get a high of 70 today, a welcome change from the perpetually chilly days and nights we've had all spring (and most of winter as well, this year!). Clearly the above photo is not of Congress Square Park, but it does evoke the feeling of today.
This has me searching for spring knits on Ravelry, which is turning up some really gorgeous stuff! That said, I haven't posted in a while, and in the meantime I've seen sweet new accessory designs by Laura Reinbach in Osprey, Angela Baldi in Finch, Melissa Schashwary (here and here) in Ibis and in Osprey, Tina Fischer in Osprey, and Beatrice Perron Dahlen in Owl, just to name a few.
Here are my favorites from the new spring designs around on Ravelry:
1. Storm King scarf in Piper Amarillo by Andrea Jurgrau, from New Heights in Lace Knitting (Interweave) | 2. Mere skirt in Sparrow Fundi by Jessica Anderson, from Knitscene Summer | 3. Islay cardigan in Chickadee Kittywake by Gudrun Johnston |
4. Camellia pullover in Finch Egret, Dogwood, and Caspian by Joji Locatelli, from Amirisu #10 (S/S 2016) | 5. Con Brio mitts in Chickadee Bare, dyed with walnuts (!), by Bonnie Sennott | 6. Cedar Bough shawl in Tern Kelp by Andrea Rangel, in Rugged Knits (Interweave) |
My favorite recent posts on Instagram all seem to fall around finished objects, perhaps because it's been a while since I've had one myself and I am just living vicariously through others at this point:
1. @jnlankford Drachenfels by Melanie Berg in Finch Marsh, Honey, and Egret | 2. @isntitaranic Really cool wall hangings in Puffin Iceland | 3. @erban Open Sky by Andrea Mowry in Lark Iceland |
4. @chantelbrenna Fairy SnowCap (Romi Hill), Fidra (Bristol Ivy), Bray Cap (Jared Flood), all in our cushy wool yarns. | 5. @lunarknits Coronal hat by Erica Knits in Finch Iceland and Sabine | 6. @lankakauppakera Couldn't resist this really sweet pic of Owl and Owl Tweet (clockwise from top left): Nuuk, Russett, Barred, Canyon, and...Snowy? Buru? That's my guess anyway! |
Happy knitting all!
xoxo, jerusha
