design spotlight: april
It's a treat for us to work with some of the best designers in the industry. We were thrilled to invite Isabell Kraemer to the design team, and with the release of our Piper 2016 collection and her lovely April pullover, it's easy to see why we're so excited for our design team this year!
April: Details
The body of this top-down sweater is adorned with an allover leaf lace pattern. The wide and simple neckline leads into stockinette stitch before the lace pattern is introduced. Saddle shoulder shaping and short rows are used to form nicely-fitting shoulders. Once the lace is complete, the body is trimmed with ribbing, matched at the cuffs of the three-quarter sleeves. Pretty, pretty.
Not pictured, but one of our favorite details about this sweater is the inclusion of a faux keyhole at the center back neck. The keyhole's button closure is purely decorative, rather than functional, but we think it's one of those lovely details that turns a very attractive sweater like this into something even more special (even if—like on a busy shoot day—it's so tiny an element it can be easily overlooked...by anyone but the knitter who made it).
Such an exciting start to the year's design team collections, isn't it? Just wait until you see what comes next month.
