sparrow 2016 spotlight: pippa
Happy Saturday, everyone! Today's spotlight is on Melissa LaBarre's Pippa, from the Quince design team's Sparrow 2016 collection.
Pippa is sweet and simple, with a blush of lace across the upper back. The sprightly motif graces the shoulder blade area beneath the straps—which are an easy, comfortable width—while the rest of the A-line shaped body is kept in plain stockinette stitch. Simple trims adorn the neckline, arm openings and hem.
Pippa is worked in the round from the bottom up to the underarm; from there, the front and back are worked flat separately and joined at the shoulders with a three-needle bind-off. A range of 8 sizes are given, from 28½" up to 48" finished bust circumference, shown on our model with negative ease of 2½".
Which shade of Sparrow would you choose for a breezy top like Pippa? With the addition of our three newest shades—pale blue Sky, pure white Lunar, and shadowy Eclipse—Sparrow now boasts 26 lovely, lively shades of linen to choose from.
